How to Rejuvenate a Tangled or Curly Human Hair Wig
Getting a new human hair wig is exciting. However, without proper hair care maintenance, your beautiful human hair wig can begin to dull and fade over time. Whether you have a human hair wig or a synthetic wig, your wig can suffer from the same curling and tangling problems if you don't take care of it. If your human hair wig becomes frizzy or very tangled and you don't know what to do with it, don't throw it away! In this blog, I’ll tell you how to rejuvenate your wig
1. Untie your real hair wig
Start by gently separating any large knots with your fingers. Place the wig on a mannequin or wig stand and secure with bobby pins or T-pins. To make the process easier, spray the wig with detangling spray and use a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush to gently comb through the hair, starting at the ends and working your way up. Be gentle with your movements to prevent falling off and breakage. Once you've untied the knot, style it as desired and finish with a light hairspray.
2. Wash with mild shampoo
If your wig looks dry and frizzy, washing it with a mild shampoo and conditioner can help. After brushing your wig, fill the sink with warm water and add shampoo to create a lathering mixture. Soak the wig in the sink and massage the strands with your fingers, paying attention to tangled areas. Let it sit for up to 5 minutes, then rinse with clean water. Apply conditioner and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse. Gently comb the wig with a wide-tooth comb while applying leave-in conditioner.
3. Restore moisture
Human hair wigs need to be kept hydrated and nourished because they don't absorb the natural oils that our own hair does. Use a leave-in conditioner or hair oil regularly and deep condition your wig when washing. Use a heat protectant and avoid sleeping in a wet wig to prevent frizz and tangles.
4. Trim the affected area
As a last resort for severely tangled or frizzy wigs, consider having your hairstylist trim it. They can remove dry or damaged areas and rejuvenate the look of your wig. Do not throw away the wig before trying this option.

5. Use less heat
Minimize the use of heat styling tools such as hair dryers, curling irons and straighteners on human hair wigs. Heat can dry out hair strands and cause tangles, frizz, and breakage. When heat is required, be sure to use a heat protectant and try to air-dry your wig if possible.
6. General hair care and maintenance
Proper maintenance is essential to prevent tangles and dryness. Store wigs in a clean, safe place, away from dust and dirt, and out of the reach of children. Shampoo, brush, condition and style your wig regularly as needed.
